Time to Live
Samuel Millender was born on October 9, 1949, in Turnel Springs, Alabama, to D. W. and Catherine Parker Millender, who have since passed away. In 1952, Samuel and his family moved to Moss Point where he graduated from Magnolia High School in the Class of 1967. He joined the United States Navy in 1969 and served until his honorable discharge in 1973. After completing his military service, Samuel started working for International Paper in 1974 and continued there until his retirement in 2000.
Time to Love
Samuel was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His favorite thing to do was spending time with family, fishing, playing dominoes, and chess.
Time to Mourn
Samuel is preceded in death by his parents, D.W. and Catherine Parker-Millender; his son, Samuel Davis Millender; and one brother, Melvin Millender.
Samuel leaves to cherish memories to his devoted wife of 31 years, Susan Millender; devoted sons, Lee (Victoria) Kirkland of Moss Point, MS, Joseph (Amanda) Kirkland of Atlanta, GA, Adrian (Kiersten) Millender of Moss Point, MS, and Samuel Millender of Mobile, AL; devoted daughter, Mary Millender; brothers, William Parker of Nashville, TN, Nathaniel Millender of Evergreen, AL, Charles (Wanda) Millender of Moss Point, MS, Kenneth Millender of Gautier, MS, and Byron (Pelicia) Millender of Macon, GA; sisters, Virginia Williams of Moss Point, MS, and Shirley (Anthony) Jordan of Macon, GA; grandchildren, Dayshawn, Bladen, Taleyah, Kenjin, Kadence, Kamori, Kaeelyn, Amari, and Samia; devoted cousins, Aaron Edwards and Raymond Molden; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who loved him dearly.
