Sammie James Jones

Mr. Sammie James Jones, age 66, was a native of Lucedale, MS and a resident of Gautier, MS, for the past 24 years. On Saturday, January 23, 2021, Sammie passed away. He was a member of Second Baptist Church.  Sammie enjoyed dancing and spending time with the people he loved.

He is preceded in death by both parents, Saul Jones Sr., and Mother Mary Hurley Jones; brothers, Joe Jones, Saul “Bill” Jones Jr., and Jerry Jones; and sisters, Hulda Jones, Nancy Hurd, Ruth Helen Jones, and Easzie Mae Jones.

Sammie leaves to cherish his loving memories to his loving and devoted wife of 19 years, Rochelle Magee Jones; daughter, Samantha Williams; his sons, Samuel Timothy Jones, Justin Jones, and Sameual Jones; stepchildren, David Cobb, Cordaryl Cobb, and Mazie Cobb; a special granddaughter, Alisha Joyce Turner; sisters, Chaplain Betty (Joe) Bolton of Escatawpa, MS, Sharon (Alloyd) Dunlap of Lake Jackson, TX, and Mattie Fairley of Lake Jackson, TX; five grandchildren; and a host of many other relatives and friends that loved him dearly.
