Mr. Steven Leon Andrews, 42, was born in Pascagoula, MS on December 17, 1977, to Mary Elizabeth Andrews and Gordon Leon Andrews. He died suddenly and unexpectedly of unknown causes on April 22, 2020. Steven was dearly loved by his family and friends. He touched us all with his kindness and compassion. He was respectful of others and treated his family and friends with devotion and commitment. Steven’s most defining attributes were his kind heart and his stubbornness. He was impetuous and never let others tell him what to do. He lived his life on his own terms and refused to be molded by those around him. His unique headstrong personality manifested when he was young and grew stronger with age. He forged his own path and lived his life on his own terms. William Motley came up with one of the most famous lines in American literature, “Live Fast, Die Young, Leave a Good-Looking Corpse”. For Steven, two out of three is not bad.
Steven grew up in Moss Point, Mississippi, and attended Moss Point High School on the days he was not suspended for fighting. He worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding and Ham Marine as a first-class scaffold builder. He enjoyed swimming with the alligators, hunting, fishing, shrimping, and spending time with his family. He dreamed of owning his own boat.
Steven is lovingly remembered by his siblings, Gordon Samuel Andrews, James Andrews, Connie Andrews, and Tony Andrews; his children with Delisa Smothers are Chance Smothers and Lexi Smothers, his child with Melodee Zglenicki is Austin Zglenicki and his children with Velana Forehand are Steven Forehand and Ashley Andrews; grandson, Michael McMaughton; aunts and uncles are Lilian Glenn, Patty Brown, Charles Clardy, Lettie Bennett, Linda Clardy, Jean Clardy, Annie May Walters, Richard Andrews, Buddy Andrews, Mary Andrews, and William Andrews; and his grandparents, Alex Andrews, Olive Andrews, James Clardy, and Elizabeth Clardy.
