TERI L. LAWRENCE was born on April 16, 1968, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to the late Rev. Clarence E. and Annie Bell Roy. On Thursday, November 6, 2025, she peacefully entered eternal rest. Teri confessed her faith and was baptized at an early age at St. Peter Baptist Church in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She later continued her Christian journey as a devoted member of Meridian Street Baptist Church until her health no longer allowed her to attend.
Teri was a proud 1986 graduate of Moss Point High School and pursued higher education at Tougaloo College. She was a previous dedicated member of the Moss Point Touchdown Club and an avid football fan, faithfully cheering for her beloved Dallas Cowboys. Teri’s passions were many, but her greatest joy came from being a GiGi. She loved shopping, laughing, and spending quality time with the people she cherished most—her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Clarence E. and Annie Bell Roy, and her brother, Anthony C. Roy.
Teri leaves to honor and carry forward her beautiful memory: her husband, James Lawrence; her children, James Lawrence Jr., Tierra Lawrence, and Jamario Lawrence; and her eleven adored grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Darryl (Tasha) Roy and Michael (Karen) Roy; her adopted sister, Elnora (Mickey) Lawrence; as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. She will be especially remembered by her close friends Amanda Lett, Hope Moore, Adrienne Jackson, Janice Martin, Cornelia Williams, and Alicia Calhoun.
Teri’s love, strength, warmth, and unwavering devotion to family and faith will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched, and she will forever remain in our hearts.
