Mrs. Wilda “KAT ” Jenkins-Houston was a native of Moss Point, MS, and a resident of Gautier, MS, for the past twelve years. On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Ocean Springs Hospital, Kat passed away while surrounded by her loving family. She was employed by the City of Pascagoula Utility Department as a Street Sweeper for nine years. Wilda had a vibrant personality full of joy that will greatly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gary Jenkins, Jr.; brother, Gary Lee Jenkins III; grandmother, Idella Fairley; and niece, Ebony Jenkins.
Wilda leaves to cherish her loving memories to her loving and devoted husband of eighteen years, Leon Houston, Jr.; daughters, Nevia “Cenna” Jenkins, Arneshia “Pooh” Jenkins, and Brenda LeAngel Jones; mother, Helen Juanita (Robert) Howlett; brother, Gary Tyrone Jenkins; sisters, Gwendolyn (Charles) Jenkins-Rodgers, Wonda (Charles) Millender, Laura Luner Jenkins-Ferdinand, Mary Rodgers Vinson, and Rebecca (Peter) Chambers Glaude; grandchildren, Ikeyiah Jenkins, Iyanna Jenkins, Marlon Ingram, Amir Ingram, Jayce Houston, Irieonna Brown, and Dakota McGhee; godchildren, Latyphanie Borden and Royce Borden; devoted in-laws, Dora and Leon Houston, Sr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
