Willie Earl Chambers Jr., age 75, of Moss Point, MS passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025 at Singing River Hospital.
He was born on October 23, 1950 to the late Essie Chambers and Willie Earl Chambers Sr. He worked several jobs and made a career at Ingalls Shipbuilding in the paint department as Foreman. He retired after 35 years in 2008.
Willie was married to Brenda Haynes Chambers for 40 years. Their life together was a testament to love and partnership.God was always first in his life, he was a person of warmth, humor, and generosity. His greatest joy was laughter, meeting people and spreading God's word, especially to his grandchildren.
He loved to travel, fish, and spend time with family. His most defining quality was his kind spirit, and his favorite quote was “If God says the same.” Willie was very active in church until his health failed. He was a trustee, a deacon, and sang in the men's choir.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Chambers; father, Willie Chambers Sr.; brothers, Houston Banks, James Johnson, and Elvin Johnson; sisters, Margie Johnson and Annie Ray Johnson; brother-in-law, Samuel Johnson; daughter, Mechell Abrams; and son, Willie Fairley.
Willie is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Chambers of Moss Point, MS; daughter, Degina Griffin of Hattiesburg, MS; eight grandchildren, Shawnniwia Frye (Larry) of Hampton, GA., Devonisha (Jermill) Peterson of Gulfport, MS, Ernest (Shuconna) Abrams of Moss Point, MS, Keoni (Chasity) Abrams of Moss Point, MS, Brisyianna Robertson of Biloxi, MS, Zavier Gamble of Lincoln, NE, Cameron Fairley of Pascagoula, MS and JaKeal (Keishion) Bradley Hattiesburg, MS; a sister-in-law, Catherine Haynes; brother-in-law, Calvin Haynes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends along with three very special friends, Jimmy Cox, Howard Lewis, and Odell Rodgers that will miss him dearly.
