Dr. Willie Clarence Williams 64, of Moss Point, Ms departed from this life on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. He was born March 10, 1952 in Pascagoula, Ms to the Glennie Mae and Charlie Williams, Jr.
Dr. Williams accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Moss Point where he served faithfully.
Dr. Williams was a 1970 graduate of Magnolia High School. He went on to further his education at the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) where he earned a Bachelor of Education. Upon graduating from USM, he went on to earn his Masters of Education at Auburn University. He then culminated his studies at USM where he earned a Doctorate of Education.
Throughout his tenure in the Moss Point School District, he served as Principal, Assistant Principal, Assistant Superintendent, and Interim Superintendent. Williams also taught in the Pascagoula School District as well. After 32 years of service, he retired from the Jackson County School District.
His career also included the funeral industry, where he served in a director's capacity along the Gulf Coast and beyond.
Finally, Dr. Williams was a board member of the Jackson County Civic Action Committee and a member of the Pride of Pascagoula #485.
